What's New on QVC?

Up until a few weeks ago, I never ever watched QVC. I never thought they would have products I would like. So I a little skeptical when I went to see the AW 11 collection. Boy was I proved wrong! Members of the jury, may I present evidence 1.

Lipstick Heaven from Boots

It's all about the lips. Boots have collaborated with the Lipstick Queen, Poppy King to make an exclusive range of lipsticks and lipglosses for No7 with gorgeous colours for summer. The range is 7 shades of varying degrees of red from a more pink hue to browns. I absolutely love red lips so this was begging to be tried. I tried 3 of the lipsticks and lipglosses.

Primers: Smashbox vs Laura Mercier

Primers have become big business and an essential part of makeup bags. We have all been there, halfway through a hot day and your foundation has melted clean off. A primer can help your make up last longer and look smoother. I got to chance try primers from Smashbox and Laura Mercier. So I put them to the test.

Pedicure Time... step by step

Well it is pouring and rain outside so I am sitting indoors thinking what should I do? Hmmm, Pedicure time! June usually means a little bit of sunshine (clearly not today) so outcome the flip flops, open toes and shoes to show the feet off. But your feet need to be ready. After months of winter, rain, painful heels, step in Ms Pedicure.

Perfumes: Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci

Perfumes are always personal thing. There are lots of perfumes out there so I have tried two out for you, one for evening and one for daytime.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP is a strong oriental scent for the evening. The base notes are vanilla, musk and sandalwood. The inspiration is the New York youth, full of style and creativity. I found the scent stayed around for a long time and kept on wanting to smell the scent. I love the packaging of the bottle. The cap is magnetic so it just sticks to the bottle. No twisting here.

A scent for the daytime is Nina L'Elixir. It is a fruity scent with base notes of white cedar, cotton musk and warm amber. It's a very sweet fragrance. However it does not seem to last very long.

Of the two, I prefer Carolina Herrera 212 VIP. What fragrance do you wear?

Filofax Blogger Style Off Unveiled

The pictures are up! My submission for the Filofax Blogger Style-Off is now on the Filofax Facebook page. So what did I pick?

It was ony after I selected the green filofax did I realise, oops, I do not actually have a lot of green in my wardrobe. I do have some brights so I went with the colour blocking theme and chose colours that would complement the green.

It was only when I had selected the whole outfit and was thinking where I had got all the pieces from, I realised they are all from River Island, even down to the shoes. I am a River Island maniac and it is often my first stop when looking for something. The only exception is the chunky coral ring which I love from H&M.

To add green-ish touch into it, my nail polish is teal colour, 'No Mambo Jambo' from H&M

You can vote for my outfit here on the Filofax Facebook page. There are so many gorgeous outfits, let see how far I get. Don't forget, if I win I get some Filofaxes to give away to your guys! So what is your verdict?

New CID Cosmetic Review

New CID Cosmetics is a makeup brand I have always been interested in and wanted to try but never got the chance. So when I got to try some of the products I was ecstatic. The colours were very complementary and suited me perfectly. I got to try four products which all together give a shimmering glow. First up for the skin is i-glow shimmer powder.

Afro Hair & Beauty Show

This past weekend was the Afro Hair & Beauty Show in London. It gives people a chance to see the latest hair designs, fashion and products all in one place. I love that it gives me a chance to see the smaller brands and see brands I had not heard of. Some of the hairstyles were outrageous and I loved it. I got to see the Zed-Eye Fashion Show which showcased some african-inspired designs. This was my favourite dress...

Filofax Blogger Style Off

I am very excited to be taking part in the Filofax Blogger Style Off. Filofax are giving bloggers the chance to create a style based on the Apex organisers (which are amazing BTW). I chose the green as it all about colour blocking. The decision for me was between the green and blue and green won.

Once we have styled our look, a photo will be uploaded to Filofax's Facebook page. The wise public will then vote for their favourite. I will shamelessly canvass for votes from fans and everyone I can think off. So beware! The winner gets 12 Filofaxes to give away on their blog so if you want one you can get voting from 9th June.

I received mine in the post today. It has everything I need to organise my life, diary, contact details and numerous slots for business cards. I am the most forgetful person on earth so I desperately need this.

Having canvassed the competition, I really should have gone for the blue. The beautiful green seems to have been a favourite. Great minds think alike!
