When it comes to spring cleaning we often forget to clean the things we use the most. It is also the items most used that are the worst offenders and cleaned the least. Items like bags, makeup bags, brushes and toothbrushes all need a good clean. That is where Milton, who make sterilising products, can help. When you think of sterilising products, they are not just for baby bottles. Here's a few tips...
For makeup bags and brushes, how can you clear skin when there is bacteria all over it? Just because you cannot see them, does not mean they are not there. So empty your bags out and use Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipe to clean the inside. Soak hairbrushes in a solution of Milton Sterilising Fluid to give them a good clean. Wash makeup brushes in detergent to remove all the makeup, rinse then soak in Milton solution to kill the last few germs for super clean brushes and in turn clear skin.
Did you know mobile phones carry more germs than a toilet? When I read that it made my skin crawl. However only one on three admit to cleaning ours regularly. I am going to be honest and say I was one of those people. But no longer! Of course switch off your phone first. Wipe the casing and screen with Milton Antibacterial Surface Wipe. Then use a cotton wool bud to clean any tiny crevices and around the buttons.
When it comes to handbags, I am the biggest culprit. Whenever you change your handbag make an effort to not only empty it but clean it. Think about where you put your bags down. Tube floors, Toilet floors, kitchen tables are all breeding grounds for bacteria. So turn it upside down and empty all the crumbs and receipts out. Give it a good wipe down to make it feel like you just bought it.
Toothbrushes all need to be cleaned regularly. Once week, soak it in a diluted Sterilising Solution for a few minutes and replace it every 3 months. Headphones are another item that gets forgotten. Use an antibacterial wipe to clean the earbuds and wires. You may be surprised how much gunk you pull out. Also don't share your headphones with anyone and this can cause infections.
