My Journey

Over a course of about two years I slowly put on a lot of weight. As my clothes gradually stopped fitting me, one by one, the more depressed I came. So at the beginning if this year I got a new job and a new lease on life. I was more settled than ever before and I felt I could concentrate on losing this weight. So this is my journey to being glamorous.

Tribal Jewellery for A/W 11

I am a huge jewellery lover and love to accessorize, so much so I sometimes look like a christmas tree. I have so much jewellery that my jewellery trees are overflowing. So you can imagine my joy when I got the chance to preview some items from two new collections for A/W 11.

First up, we have Azuni London which was started in 1996 by Ashley Marshall. He fuses ancient art, modern pop culture and fashion trends to create a unique look with traditional shapes. Each creation is handmade with semi precious stones and precious metals. The eponymous collection consists of quirky bangles, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. There were a lot of things I loved but these two are my favourites.

Wide disc Bangle for £115.

Summer dresses

It is heating up in UK now. The sun is shining and it is time to show some leg so I have found some perfect summer dresses for you.

Diane Von Furstenburg and beautiful dresses go hand in hand. DVF gave us the wrap dress which we have come to love. Color-blocking is all the rage and ideal for summer. The colours really contrast and complement each other. The Reara dress is 100% silk woven and I am completely obsessed. Unfortunately it is on preorder now and shipping in mid-april in US for $365. Get in line quick!

Are you going to a wedding this summer? Warehouse have this cream one-shoulder dress. The thin belt gives you a waist. The slouchy look will hide all manner of sins. The dress is sent from heaven! Pair with cream patent platform heels and clutch and go party. Available in black as well (but it is all about the cream) for £70 from Warehouse

For something  a little more casual, Oasis have a reincarnation of the popular beige striped dress. The colour is now white and black with a scooped neckline. It is fitted at the waist and flares into an A-line skirt for a real 50s feel. £65 from Oasis.
What are your thoughts on the dresses? Back out into the sun now. Enjoy!

Believe In Boutique

I attended Essex Fashion Week a while ago and saw the most amazing collection from a small boutique called Believe In. Boutiques often have brands you have never heard of before and you can often find little gems in there. I saw this jacket at EFW and thought to myself, that jacket has my name written all over it!

MODUS A/W 11 Press Day

I had the most amazing time attending the A/W 11 Press Day for MODUS recently. There were a lot of brands with amazing clothes including up and coming designers.

The standout designer for me was David Koma. Before attending the Press Day, I have to confess I had not heard not of David Koma. He graduated from St Martins 2 years ago and setup his own line. He is one to watch out for as he clothes are unique and completely took my breath away. I fell in love with this dress...
